Maple Cinnamon Candied Pecans

Maple Cinnamon Candied Pecans

I’m super proud of this recipe for many reasons. Mostly though, because it’s full of wholesome ingredients, it’s easy and quite literally addicting.

Every year, for the last 8 years, my husband and I visit Gulf Shores, Alabama. The tradition stared when we were first dating and we’ve carried the tradition on. This last year, we took our son on the ultimate beach vacation! We absolutely love this beach. It’s quiet and quaint and loaded with delicious restaurants. But really, if i’m being honest, one of my favorite reasons to visit Gulf Shores is that along the way, there’s a sweet little pecan store that sells the tastiest pecan treats and adorable memorabilia called Priesters Pecans . We stop every time we’re on the way back home and we always sample enough candied pecans to put us in a sugar coma for a few days. So when we got back from our annual trip this year, i decided i was going to make my own candied pecans with a healthier twist without sacrificing that delicious crunch and cinnamon packed flavor.

Oh- i almost forgot to mention that these little dudes make the cutest homemade holiday gifts! Just package them however you like, and tie them in a bow. Your friends and family will be more than happy to be gifted a jar of these goodies!

I love this recipe because it’s really super duper easy to make. You put all of the ingredients in the pan all at once and let the magic happen. All you have to do is to remember to stir them every minute or so to ensure they get evenly coated and don’t burn. I use these candied pecans for so many things! Snacking, banana bread (the recipe will be up here soon!), more snacking…… Go ahead and give it a try. It’s only 4 ingredients and 25 minutes. I promise you’ll love it!

Give it a try. Leave your feedback and love below! If you make this and share on social media, tag the picture with the hashtag #hungrilyhomemaderecipes.

Total time: 25 minutes

Yield: 1 cup candied pecans

Ingredients:
1. 1 cup halved pecans

2. 1/4 pure maple syrup

3. 1 tsp cinnamon powder

4. 2 tbsp salted butter

Method:

1. In a large skillet, add all of the ingredients and set the heat to low.

2. Allow the butter to melt slowly and continuously mix the ingredients every minute to ensure all of the pecans are well coated and do not burn or stick to the bottom of the skillet.

3. The butter and maple syrup mixture should begin to thicken around the pecans while you stir. Once you notice that the syrup mixture has completely coated the pecans and no syrup remains pooled in the skillet, remove the pecans from the skillet and lay them on a piece of parchment paper to cool. With a wooden spoon, separate the pecans from each other while they are still hot so they do not stick together.

4. Let cool for 20 minutes before snacking or storing them in an airtight container. As the peans cool, they will crisp up to their crunchy texture!
